Boarding

NISV Boarding is a home away from home. Love, care, and sympathy from teachers ensure that children are happy and contented at school.

The campus has three residential complexes-one each boarders, boys and girls, and the third for Teachers and Staff. The three-storey student residences have been designed for safety, comfort, and aesthetic living. Each of the air-conditioned bedrooms accommodates three students, with their own bed, wardrobe, and a study table area. A study lounge with an ICT network node, on each floor of the residences, is a unique feature that allows for a private study environment. Complete and homely care is provided by the Housemaster, ‘Floor Parents’, and the School Counselors.

Staying in a boarding is a unique experience. The student experiences what it is like to live in a community where learning, personal growth and exploration are top priority; where programs and activities are abundant; where making friends is paramount; and where success is celebrated. Teachers work with students, share meals and often live on campus, making it a difficult environment to duplicate anywhere else. While the educational experience at the boarding school is important to personal and educational growth and development, it’s also a precursor to life after school.

The Boarders

The functioning of the boarding facility is under the overall direction of the Head of Boarding. Every boarding student is allocated to a study-bedroom space ,in a single-sex house, supervised by House Parents; they are supported by the Matron and tutors.

Study-bedrooms are shared by three students and may be personalized with suitable pictures, posters, and photographs. It is also equipped with a separate study lounge so that the student in a dedicated study space is less likely to be disturbed by others and can enjoy uninterrupted concentration.

Each facility has a recreational space with television, stereo sound system, and DVD equipment and computers. The school provides all bed linen and blankets.

Before Your Arrival

Do not bring more than a single suitcase but decide carefully what you will put in it! Vadodara enjoys a warm, dry climate most of the year, though there is usually a pleasant breeze on the campus.

December and January are pleasant months. The monsoon season from June to September is unpredictable with rains ranging from light to torrential. Light cotton clothes are preferable most of the year; however a sweater or a sweatshirt would be welcome during the winter months. Jeans, shorts, tracksuits, pants, t-shirts, and skirts are the regular attire. It is advisable to bring semi formal clothes for special functions such as formal dinners, plays, dances or trips. Footwear can include training shoes, sneakers, or open sandals.
